lime sorbet

Margarita Sorbet

If you give me a margarita with a salted rim on a sunny 75 degree day, I will thrive. Now combine tequila with an ice cold lime sorbet?! Hell. Yea.

This recipe is super simple and delicious! It does require an ice cream/ sorbet maker. This is the one that I use and swear by, click here.

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 3 limes, zested

  • 3 cups water

  • 1 1/4 cups fresh squeezed lime juice

  • 1/2 cup tequila

  • In a medium sized saucepan, combine the sugar and lime zest. Mix to combine.
  • Add 1 cup of the water to the pot. Place the pot over medium heat mixing constantly just until the sugar dissolves. About 5-8 minutes.
  • Strain the sugar lime zest mixture into a large bowl.
  • Add the remanning 2 cups of water, lime juice, and tequila to the mixture and mix to combine. Place this in the fridge to become cold before using the ice cream/ sorbet maker (about 45 + minutes).
  • Place the mixture into the chilled ice cream/ sorbet maker. The process of making the sorbet may depend on the kind of machine you’re using. I churned mine for about 25-30 minutes or until the mixture was thick, icy, and white.
  • Place the sorbet into an airtight container and allow to sit in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
  • Scoop, top with lime zest, salted rim, and lime wedge on the side!
  • Enjoy!
