Halloween S’mores Dip

I am SO ready for spooky season. This Halloween S’mores Dip is the perfect combination for those of you who are excited to get in the spooky season but aren’t quite ready to let go of some of your favorite Summer flavors, like S’mores.

This recipe is extremely simple and can be made with your favorite festive halloween peeps. Using peeps is a fun alternative to regular marshmallows, especially when they’re as cute as the little ghost peeps I used in this recipe.

If the little decorated part of your peeps disappear in the oven, don’t panic. You can easily pipe little dollops of melted chocolate to add on the little ghost face, or whatever details the peeps you chose have. Another way to get a lovely Halloween effect on S’mores dip without using peeps is to using regular marshmallows, then top the toasted marshmallows with festive sprinkles.

What Kind Of Chocolate Should I Use?

My go to recommendation for chocoalte in baking is mostly semi-sweet. It’s not as sweet as milk chocolate and especially when pairing it with marshmallow peeps which we all know are super sweet, the semi-sweet chocoalte chips will help balance the flavors better.

While that’s just my preference, you can absolutely substitute the milk chocolate for whatever kind of chocolate chips you desire! You can even get creative this Halloween season and throw in some chopped Halloween candy to amp up the flavors, use up some of that candy, and make each bite different and delicious in its own way.

Keep the screen of your device on.


  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 10-12 peeps

  • graham crackers, for dipping


  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a 8″ or 9″ pie dish or skillet, pour in your chocolate chips.
  • Bake the chocolate chips on their own for 3-4 minutes or until they appear much softer.
  • Arrange the marshmallow peeps over the warmed chocolate in a nice circular pattern.
  • Bake the S’mores dip with marshmallow peeps on top for an additional 2-3 minutes. You can place the dip under broil for the last 30 seconds to 1 minutes to really get the marshmallows nice and toasty.
  • If the faces of your peep characters melted in the oven, you can pipe on a little bit of melted chocolate to recreate their faces.
  • Serve and enjoy immediately with graham crackers, fruit, or whatever dipping vehicle you wish!
