Valentine’s Day Spritz Cookies
Come along with me to bake these adorable and delicious Valentine’s Day Spritz Cookies! These cookies are so tender, buttery, vanilla-forward, and the best part – almost too cute to eat :) Not to mention – so easy to make.

How To Make Valentine’s Day Spritz Cookies
This recipe is super simple and easy to follow. I’m going to give you a few tips to help you along the way or answer any questions you might have throughout the recipe.
Making The Cookie Dough
The cookie dough should be made using room-temperature butter and egg yolks. This ensures that the ingredients will not only combine better but also that the texture is soft enough for us to pipe. Cold butter will leave clumps in our dough and will make for a thicker, harder-to-pipe texture.

How To Pipe Spritz Cookie Dough
Piping our dough for these Valentine’s Day Spritz Cookies should be done using a piping bag that is thick enough to sustain pressure from you gently squeezing the piping bag. If you are like me and have thinner piping bags, simply double-bag the dough to give you a more sustainable experience.
If your dough is extremely thick and hard to pipe, mix in a tablespoon of milk to the batter to help loosen it up a bit. Don’t add too much milk or you will ruin the consistency. To pipe my cookies, I am using various star tips but you can use whichever ones you like.

Piping Our Designs
I found an image I liked online of the shape and style of bears I’d like to recreate. From there I traced these bears onto my parchment paper about 2″ apart then used this outline to trace with my cookie dough. You can trace the image you like from an iPad or tablet, a printed-out piece of paper, or of course – freehand!
How To Decorate Spritz Cookies
I used melted chocolate to add the details onto my bear’s faces after they were baked and cooled. You can use candy melts, white chocolate, icing, buttercream, ganache – whatever you want! If you are using candy melts or chocolate, I recommend microwaving in 30-second intervals mixing between each time until completely melted. You can get creative and add sprinkles, more details on the bears, dip their little paws in chocolate, and so much more!

How To Store Spritz Cookies
These cookies can be kept and stored at room temperature in an air-tight container for up to 3 days. They can be refrigerated for up to a week, or they can be kept sealed in the freezer for up to 3 months. Depending on what you use to decorate your spritz cookies with can alter the storing method. If you use buttercream to decorate your cookies then they should be stored at all times in the fridge.

Can I Use A Cookie Press?
No matter how you want to enjoy these adorable little treats, whether you use a cookie press or pipe them, this recipe will leave you with the most delicious Valentine’s Day Cookies ever! You can customize your cookies by adding a different extract, like almond extract instead of vanilla, using different gel food coloring instead of the pink and red I used, adding nonpareils to the top of your bears, anything! This easy cookie recipe was made with you in mind and I encourage you all to always add your own twist! :)
